South Carolina solar incentives, rebates, and tax credits
Federal Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC)
The 26% federal tax credit is available for purchased home solar systems installed by December 31, 2022.
South Carolina Solar Tax Credit
The 25% state solar tax credit is available for purchased rooftop solar panels in South Carolina, including installation. Max. amount: $3,500 paid out each year. It has no expiration date, and any excess credit may be carried forward up to 10 years.
Santee Cooper Solar Rebate Program
Eligible Santee Cooper customers may qualify to get a cash incentives for every kilowatt (kW) of solar power installed.
